OSHAWA, ONTARIO – The success story of Albanian Canadians continues to grow with the emergence of another prominent voice in public service and civic leadership. Albanian-Canadian community leader Danjeza Danglli has officially registered her candidacy for Oshawa City Council in the municipal elections scheduled for October 26.

Her candidacy carries a particularly meaningful symbolism. Exactly 18 years after arriving in Canada as a landed immigrant, Danglli chose the same date to take a new step in her public service journey by seeking to represent the residents of Oshawa at the municipal level.

Recognized for her commitment to public service, social issues, and community engagement, Danglli currently serves as Chair of the Durham Region Branch of the Albanian Canadian Political Action Committee (ACPAC). In this role, she has been actively involved in strengthening Albanian representation and civic participation throughout the region.

Her professional path is built on a strong academic and institutional foundation. A graduate of the Faculty of Law at South East European University (SEEU), Danglli continued her education in Canada while establishing a successful career in the public sector. Over the years, she has contributed to a number of provincial and national initiatives focused on public policy development, electoral administration, and government modernization.

One of the defining milestones of her career was her appointment to Ontario’s Advisory Committee on Standards for Voting Technologies, where she contributed to the development of recommendations aimed at modernizing electronic voting systems across the province. She later played a key leadership role in one of Ontario’s most significant electoral data transformation projects, supporting the transition of voter list administration for all 444 municipalities across the province and working closely with municipal clerks in preparation for upcoming local elections.

Today, Danglli works with March of Dimes Canada, one of the country’s leading national non-profit organizations, where she is involved in strategic planning and the management of major initiatives with nationwide social impact.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Danglli is widely recognized for her dedication to community service. Through volunteer work supporting women, children, and vulnerable populations, as well as her efforts to promote Albanian language and culture in North America, she has built a reputation as a respected and engaged community leader.

Her candidacy is being viewed as an important milestone for the Albanian-Canadian community in Ontario, reflecting the growing presence of Canadians of Albanian heritage in public institutions and civic leadership roles. If elected on October 26, Danglli will bring extensive experience in public administration, social policy, strategic planning, and community engagement to Oshawa City Council, with a commitment to serving all residents of the city.
