Crown Prince Leka II of Albania Announces Engagement to Blerta Celibashi
Crown Prince Leka II of Albania has announced his engagement to Blerta Celibashi, just six months after finalizing his divorce from Crown Princess Elia. The news, shared through an official statement from the Albanian Royal Court, marks a new chapter for the 42-year-old royal and his partner.
“The Royal Court is pleased to announce the engagement of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Leka II of the Albanians and Miss Blerta Celibashi,” the statement read. “The engagement was joyfully celebrated on 11 October 2025, in Ksamil, Southern Albania, in the presence of family and close friends. The Royal Family shares their happiness with the Albanian people and extends heartfelt gratitude to all who have conveyed their kind wishes on this joyful occasion.”
Photographs posted on the Crown Prince’s official Instagram account show the newly engaged couple celebrating their milestone surrounded by loved ones. Blerta, radiant in a champagne-coloured floor-length gown, stood alongside the Crown Prince, who opted for a classic tailored suit. The intimate gathering took place in Ksamil, one of Albania’s most picturesque coastal destinations.

The engagement follows a year after the couple made their relationship public in September 2024. Since then, Blerta has begun appearing at official events alongside the prince. Most recently, she joined him at the Queen Géraldine Foundation, which supports education and philanthropic initiatives throughout Albania. For that appearance, she kept her look effortlessly elegant in a crisp white blouse paired with dark-wash jeans—signalling a poised yet approachable public image.
Prince Leka’s engagement comes after his amicable separation from Crown Princess Elia, finalized earlier this year. The former couple, who married in 2016, share a commitment to continuing their respective charitable and cultural work within Albania.
With this new engagement, the Albanian royal family enters an uplifting new phase—one that reflects both continuity and renewal within one of Europe’s most fascinating modern monarchies.
