Renowned Albanian soprano Ermonela Jaho, who has stood out with her performances primarily in Spain, has been awarded and recognized with the prestigious title of Best Foreign Artist.

The award was presented to her by the Minister of Justice for her contribution to Spanish opera. The Albanian soprano has been praised and applauded countless times for her exceptional voice.

One of her most remarkable performances was her deeply moving interpretation at the Royal Opera House, one of the largest and most renowned opera stages in the world. Ermonela Jaho was named the Best Foreign Artist who has performed in the Spanish Opera, and her contribution throughout the 2022-2023 season was acknowledged during the National Lyrical Awards in Spain. The jury for these awards consisted of esteemed critics and journalists from the classical music world.

Jaho was recognized not only for her voice but for her extraordinary interpretation in Puccini’s opera Suor Angelica. Her heartfelt performance has also been widely acclaimed at the Royal Opera House.

The ceremony for Spain’s opera awards took place on October 22 this year during a grand gala at the Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid, where individuals who contributed to the promotion of Spanish opera were celebrated, including those in direction, scenography, costume design, and, of course, performances like that of Ermonela Jaho.

Once again, Ermonela Jaho has made us proud beyond borders. The award was presented by the Minister of Justice in recognition of her outstanding contribution to Spanish lyrical art.
